Shinbashi Nadeshiko-kai is a traditional recital presented by the geisha of Shinbashi, one of Tokyo’s historic geisha districts. Established soon after World War II, it has long served as a training ground for the next generation of performers and as an important step toward appearing in the prestigious Azuma Odori.
Younger geisha take the leading roles in traditional Japanese dance and music, while senior performers support them through instruction, dance, and musical accompaniment. Held in the heart of Ginza, Tokyo, this recital offers a rare opportunity to experience the refined performing arts of Shinbashi.
No knowledge of Japanese is required to enjoy the performance.
